Many
natural gas distributors store liquefied natural gas in order to meet peak
demands. Before natural gas can be liquefied, impurities such as
water and CO2 must be removed to prevent freezups.
Although amine solutions will remove CO2 and alumina will
remove water, using molecular sieves to adsorb both impurities at the same
time is more cost-effective.
